Ontama no Yu

Jozankei Gensen Park has hot spring pools where you can make onsen tamago (“hot spring boiled egg”). At Ontama no Yu the water from the source is over 80℃. It usually takes about 20 minutes to cook a delicious egg, and anyone can have a go. You can buy raw eggs in packs of three in a net at Jozankei Product Center on the riverbank over the Tsukimi Bridge. When you buy your eggs, the assistant will tell you the optimal cooking time for that day. Be careful, though. Depending on the time of year, crows watch to see when the eggs are cooked and might try to snatch them off you!
