Yukituro 2026 (Snow candle way)FINAL
Introduction
The “Snow Lantern Festival,” featuring the lighting of approximately 1,000 handmade snow candles, has been a seasonal feature of Jozankei’s winters for 15 years, thanks to the many visitors and support we have received.
Starting next season, our summer event, “JOZANKEI NATURE LUMINARIE,” will undergo a major change in planning due to the extensive renovation of Futami Park. Accordingly, we have decided to reorient the winter “Snow Lantern Festival” to a new format.
As a result, the current “Snow Lantern Festival” will end from January 27th to February 3rd, 2026.
We hope you will join us in bringing this final, fantastical world of snow candles, created by hotel staff and local stakeholders, to a close and mark the end of 15 years of history.
And we hope you will look forward to the newly reborn “Snow Lantern Festival” in the future.
We look forward to seeing you there.

[Event Overview]
This snow art festival takes place in the snowy valley of Jozankei Shrine, a setting that can only be experienced in the crystal-clear, crisp air unique to this time of year.
The Snow Candle Area is bathed in the warm light of approximately 1,000 candles, and deep within the forest is the “Forest of Prayer,” a world where nature and digital elements blend together in the overwhelming colors of winter scenery. The forest, home to mystical animals dwelling among the trees and snowy scenery, is expressed as the winter world of “JOZANKEI NATURE LUMINARIE,” an illumination that co-creates with nature.
Enjoy both the warm, fantastical Snow Candle Area and the digitally generated nature.
Daily Shuttle Bus Service During the Event
A shuttle bus will operate daily, circulating between the hot spring town and the event venue.
