Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort

This is the closest ski area to Jozankei Onsen. Depending on the weather, why not just pop there in the afternoon? On clear days, Ishikari Bay is visible from the summit, and it’s possible to ski amid a panorama of rime-covered trees.

Depart from Sapporo Kokusai Ski Resort

Arrive at your accommodation in Jozankei and check in

Warm up in your favorite hot-spring accommodation facility

Day 2

6:00 am

Check the weather on each of the ski resorts’ websites.

Check the websites for the latest info regarding the slopes at the resort of your choice – be it Sapporo Kokusai, Niseko, Rusutsu or the like. Data regarding snow depth, piste info and even live cameras will help you to determine where to go powder hunting today.

8:00 am

Depart from your accommodation in Jozankei

Travel & preparation (approx. 2 hours)

10:00 am

Enjoy the powder on the slopes!

For example, Niseko: Those who wish to carve the first tracks down a newly groomed piste should arrive around 8:30 a.m. Most of the slopes at Grand Hirafu are open for floodlit night skiing (4:30 – 7 p.m.), so skiing in the moonlight is also recommended.。

Arrive at your accommodation in Jozankei

Enjoy visiting the two footbaths in the Onsen resort. Soak your feet in the tub and feel your whole body warm up. In addition to the hot-spring baths at the accommodation, beauty treatment, massages or saunas may also be available.

Enjoy the powder on the slopes!

For example, Rusutsu: All types of courses – from powder and tree skiing, to side-country and the like – to satisfy even the most experienced skiers and snowboarders. Some of the courses are so long that your knees will not last if you try to descend without stopping! Enjoy this powder resort in your own style. Night skiing is also available until 8 p.m.
