Sakano ueno monaka was born from thinking about the richness of nature and the beauty of the passing seasons.

We’re a pastry shop that sells poundcakes elaborately crafted from pastry and “MONAKA,” a novel type of sweet that a brings a western style twist to Japanese monaka wafer cakes. A financier topped with mousse and cream, between the monaka wafers there is jam and red bean paste added into the mousse of our MONAKA. Casually enjoy these delicate sweets refined to perfection.

You can also relax at the adjacent cafe and bar Koso (10:00-14:30). In this roomy and modern space, for 1,000 yen you can enjoy one of our different kinds of MONAKA and a choice of 15 self serve beverages.
