It is one of the famous named slopes in Jozankei Onsen, along with Mikaeri-zaka Slope and Yukemuri-zaka Slope. At the top of the slope, on one corner of a three-way intersection, is a monument to a poem written by Yosano Akiko, who wrote lyrics connected with Jozankei.\u3000<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The south side of the slope was once a bustling entertainment district of the hot-spring resort, lined with \u2018okiya\u2019 (geisha houses) and restaurants, where geisha strolled around. If you climb the steep stairs beside the Iwato Kannon-do Temple, you will find Iwato Park, within which is the trailhead to Mt.
